Bishop Onassis F. Jones serves as the Senior Pastor and Chief Executive Officer of Christ Temple of New Orleans. He is a native and current resident of  New Orleans, Louisiana and is the son of Ms. Emma Snowden.

 

Bishop Jones graduated and obtained a Master’s of Divinity in Psychology and Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Bishop Jones also graduated from the Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and is also a proud graduate of McDonogh #35 College Preparatory Senior High School.

 

Bishop Jones is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana with an extensive counseling career in individual, group, and family counseling. Bishop Jones embraces his professional counseling career as a facet of his call and purpose in life to nurture, cultivate, and develop the lives of others.

 

Bishop Jones received his early church training at Third Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of New Orleans, Louisiana under the pastorate of the late Reverend Herman Forte. Bishop Jones rendered 25 years of faithful service at Third Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church as a musician, Sunday School Teacher, and Youth Counselor. In July 1999, Bishop Jones was appointed Chief Operating Officer and received ministerial licensure and pastoral ordination which later led to his consecration as Bishop at Logos Christian Fellowship under the pastorate of Apostle Lionel Catchings.  In February 2003, Bishop Jones became the Assistant Pastor of the Olivet Baptist Church, New Orleans, Louisiana under the pastorate of Reverend Sylvester Ross. In May 2005, Bishop Jones was elected and served as pastor of Olivet Baptist Church after the demise of Pastor Ross in September 2004. In July 2002, Bishop Jones founded Christ Temple of New Orleans where he currently serves as Senior Pastor and Teacher of one church in four parishes (Orleans, Jefferson, St. John the Baptist, and East Baton Rouge). Bishop Jones is also Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Justified, LLC., a professional community gospel choir. Bishop Jones also serves as an academic instructor at the Christian Bible College of Louisiana.

 

As a Pastor, Teacher, and Professional Counselor, Bishop Jones whole-heartedly embraces a passionate desire to utilize his spiritual, educational and professional background and training in proclaiming the Word of God to make great disciples for the Kingdom of God.
